Many Japanese schools offer courses in Japanese to foreign students from beginner to advanced level. First, note that it is almost impossible for foreign students to enter directly in vocational schools or universities in Japan.
Usually a minimum of 6 months of learning the language in a Japanese school is required at first. Therefore, most foreigners have to study both Japanese and other related subjects in the language institutes for one to two years in order to pass the entrance examinations in universities or vocational schools. For this reason, the choice of the Japanese language school is very important step for the prospective student. There are two types of Japanese language institutions for foreign students wishing to go to a Japanese university or vocational schools.
1 – Preparatory courses of Japanese language offered by private universities The preparatory language courses for foreign students offered by private universities are regular courses in the university curriculum as defined in the Education Act. The aim of these courses are to provide a basic education in the Japanese language, society ,culture, and other subjects necessary for students wishing to enter college for undergraduate or graduate programs either as students or researchers.
2 – Japanese language institutions certified by the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education The Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education is the agency that reviews and certifies the schools for foreign students in Japan commonly called “institutions of Japanese language”. There are many institutions in Japan presently. Students wishing to attend colleges and that offer courses in Japanese language should make sure that the Japanese institution they choose for their Japanese language training is recognized first by the this association and is following the regulation.
Students wishing to study in these institutions must enter Japan with the “College Student” or “Pre-College Student” visa. While still being abroad, it is almost impossible to imagine the realities in these language schools, and with Wospro Japan, we try to guide students not only by helping them have better understanding of the system . We assist them from their own countries by helping them make the right choice of the language school, while having in mind the geographical situation , the purpose and length of stay ( short or long term ). We also know that life in Japan is very expensive so we give students advices that will help tem reduce their living cost therefore helping them spend as little as possible during their stay.
